KARACHI: Police on Tuesday nabbed two alleged muggers who used to rob hair salons in Karachi’s Chakiwara.
According to details, the suspects identified as Muhammad Kashif and Muhammad Asif were traced after CCTV footage of robberies at multiple hair salons in Karachi showed their involvement.
The police after discovering their identities carried out a raid in Chakiwara area and arrested them.
During the initial investigation, the suspects confirmed that they were involved in robberies at three hair salons in Garden and two others in the Kharadar area besides also admitting robberies at batteries and tyre shops.

“They started looting hair salons in order to get more money,” they said and added that suspects shared that it was easy for them to not only snatch money from cash counters but also deprive customers at the salons of their belongings.
Robberies at hair salons have been reported previously and in one such incident recently, a passer-by was shot dead while a policeman sustained injuries after the latter resisted a robbery bid at a barber’s shop in Karachi’s Federal B Area neighbourhood.
