KARACHI: Two senior officers of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s Land Department are reported to have been dismissed from service following findings of serious corruption.
Media reports and data available with MM News suggest the dismissed officers are Noman Siddiqui (Land Department director) and Additional Director Hafiz Mugheera Qadri.
According to an official inquiry report, both officers were found culpable of substantial corruption allegations, including involvement in illegal allotments, financial motivations, and other departmental irregularities.
The dismissals took effect immediately upon announcement.
Investigation Findings and Departmental Action
A formal departmental inquiry conducted by the KMC resulted in damaging findings against the two officers.
Following a detailed review of the inquiry report and supporting documentation, officials determined that sufficient evidence existed to warrant termination of service.
The action was executed under the provisions of the Sindh Civil Servants Efficiency and Discipline Rules 1973, the statutory framework governing disciplinary proceedings for provincial government employees.
Both officers were issued show-cause notices prior to the final decision, allowing them an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
The inquiry committee’s recommendations, combined with available departmental records, formed the basis for the dismissal orders.
Meanwhile in a related development, Assistant Director Naeemul Haque’s promotion was also withdrawn as a consequence of the inquiry findings, reflecting the broader nature of the violations uncovered within the department.
