LAHORE: TV host Ayesha Jahanzeb was reportedly tortured by her husband in Lahore.
According to broadcast journalist Muhammad Umair (@MohUmair87), the famous actress and TV host was beaten by her husband, Haris, with a gun. Umair reported that Ayesha’s pictures indicate she was brutally tortured. Police have registered the case, and the accused is currently in custody on remand.
It is worth mention that Ayesha Jahanzeb began her career with news channels and gained fame through Aftab Iqbal’s popular show “Khabarnak,” which aired on Geo News. She currently portrays the character of Shaggo Phupho in “Burns Road Ke Romeo Juliet,” a role that has garnered widespread popularity. She has also hosted other shows “Chocolate Times,” and is now successfully transitioning into acting.
The FIR states that Ayesha was tortured and injured by her husband. Upon her request, the police swiftly arrested Haris. He was then presented before a judicial magistrate, who approved a two-day physical remand.
In May, former Pakistani actress, model, and TV host Zainab Jamil survived an assassination attempt. The incident occurred near J Block Park during the daytime when the former Khabarnaak host was leaving her salon and heading to her car.
CCTV footage of the incident surfaced online, showing two unidentified assailants spraying bullets at her. Zainab Jamil later alleged that her husband was behind the failed assassination attempt, which she survived. “The attack was carried out by my husband as he has been threatening me for the last two months,” she said in a recorded video from a Lahore hospital, which she posted on Instagram.
