A group of cattle traders was looted by armed robbers on the Super Highway near Karachi. The group of 19 to 20 traders was reportedly deprived of Rs15 million in cash.
According to media reports, the traders were en route from Karachi to Mirpur Khas to purchase animals for Eid-ul-Azha when the incident occurred.
As they reached near Bahria Town on the Super Highway, a suspicious Vigo vehicle followed them. The victims said that armed men in the vehicle stopped their vehicle at gunpoint and robbed Rs15 million.
The police were immediately informed, and an FIR has been registered on the complaint of one of the traders, Farhan Qureshi.
Moreover, the victims have urged the authorities to quickly arrest the robbers and recover the stolen money.
Meanwhile, police had said an investigation was underway as CCTV footage from the area had also been collected to help trace the suspects.
It should be noted that cattle from all parts of the country are brought to the Karachi cattle market ahead of Eid al-Adha.
