RAHIM YAR KHAN: In yet another heart-wrenching incident, a 3-year-old child lost his life after falling into an open manhole in the Rehmat Niazi Colony area of Rahim Yar Khan.
The tragic accident occurred while the child was playing outside his home, highlighting the persistent failure of authorities to address the menace of uncovered manholes despite repeated warnings and high-level notices in Punjab.
According to rescue sources, the manhole cover was broken, causing the child to suddenly fall into the open sewer. The child suffered critical injuries and suffocation, and was immediately rushed to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, the child could not be saved, leaving the family and the community in deep grief.
