MUZAFFARABAD: Family members of missing Kashmiri poet Ahmed Farhad met him at Kahori police station near the Punjab city.
After the meeting, Ahmed Farhad’s brother Syed Liaquat Shah told reporters that Farhad’s condition was fine and he would now fight a legal battle in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Yesterday, the federal government told the Islamabad High Court that poet and journalist Ahmed Farhad, who was missing for the past 15 days, is in the custody of Azad Kashmir police.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of Islamabad High Court heard the recovery case of the missing poet Farhad. Iman Mazari appeared in court on behalf of Farhad’s wife, while the federal government was represented by the Attorney General for Pakistan.
During the proceedings of the case, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan told the court that Farhad was arrested and detained by the Azad Kashmir Police. The Attorney General also presented the report of Azad Kashmir police station in the court.
It should be noted that poet Farhad went missing from Islamabad 15 days ago. Farhad’s wife Urooj Zainab filed a complaint in the Islamabad High Court for the recovery of her husband.
