Humayun Dilawar, who convicted PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana criminal case was posted at the Islamabad High Court as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) on Friday.
Dilawar has been instructed to report to the Islamabad High Court. He will join his new assignment with immediate effect. He was working as an Additional District and Session Judge (West), Islamabad.
While serving as Additional District and Session Judge in Islamabad, he slapped the PTI chief with a five-year disqualification and three-year prison term in the Toshakhana criminal case.
Dilawar, who sentenced PTI chief Imran Khan to three years in prison flew to the United Kingdom to participate in the training on August 5.
He was set to attend the ‘Judicial Training on Human Rights and the Rule of Law’ from August 5 to August 13. Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq nominated him for the training.
It is pertinent to mention that the Supreme Court of Pakistan found ‘flaws’ in his judgment against Khan that led to his sentencing and imprisonment. However, it decided against intervening immediately.
The top court heard a host of petitions filed by Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case on August 23.
