KARACHI: The title song of critically acclaimed Sarmad Khoosat directed film “Zindagi Tamasha”, set to be release on 24th January,  is out now.
The song Zindagi Tamasha Bani performed and composed by Nimra Gilani is a tribute to the golden era of Pakistani film music. The song honored, Khawaja Pervez Sahab, music composer Wajahat Attre, singer Afshaan Jee and actor Mumtaaz Jee.
The unparallel star cast includes Samiya Mumtaz, Ali Qureshi, Eman Suleman, while the film is directed by Sarmad Khoosat, known for directing OSTs “Hamsafar” and “Sher-e-Zaat”.  Sarmad also directed and portrayed “Manto” back in 2015 and the film received diverse reviews and ratings.
The film is based on a really sensitive topic that portrays blasphemy laws and its misuse. The unorthodox storyline prototypes Pakistani society as short-sighted and exceedingly conservative. The launch trailer received a negative response on social media and was taken down. Sarmad ensured it will be uploaded once again with minor changes.

During a recent promotion conference, Samiya Mumtaz stated, “There are distinct-genre films in which glamour is sold, and that has a mission, which is you follow that lifestyle or try to copy it and it’s a way of throwing a veil on matters. Our film, Zindagi Tamasha, is about reality, it is not about people who live on the stars but live around us and it is essentially looking at a certain truth. It’s not a film where one wears gowns and goes to the mall.”
Sarmad went on to add that he didn’t make the film to anger someone, nor was it intentional. “I’m not trying to show controversy.” The film is set to release on 24th January 2020 and will be the first Pakistani feature film this year.
