KARACHI: Police have made a major breakthrough in the murder case of Dr. Aakash, arresting three suspects involved in the crime.
According to DIG South Asad Raza, police traced and apprehended the suspects within just 36 hours with the help of advanced technical expertise and CCTV footage. The arrested suspects have been identified as Suresh, Ram Chand, and Anil.
DIG South stated that the murder of Dr. Aakash was a result of resistance during a robbery. The suspects had kept Dr. Aakash under surveillance after he withdrew cash from a bank and attempted to rob him. When he resisted, they opened fire.
One car and two motorcycles were used in the crime, and the suspects fled towards Malir City and Quaidabad after the incident.
Police have recovered the weapons and motorcycles used in the crime from the possession of the suspects. According to DIG South, all three arrested suspects are habitual criminals hailing from interior Sindh, while they were residing in Quaidabad. The investigation into the murder during robbery was conducted by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
Asad Raza further said that 85 percent of murder-during-robbery cases have been solved this year. He assured that the remaining absconding accomplices of the arrested suspects will also be brought to justice soon.
