RAWALPINDI / QUETTA: At least three more terrorists belonging to the declared Fitna al-Khawarij have been killed in intense clashes as the joint military, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and police offensive—dubbed “Operation Shaban”—continues to squeeze militant sanctuaries, security sources said on Wednesday.
With the latest eliminations, the total number of militants killed so far in Operation Shaban has reached 88.
According to details, the joint security forces have been executing highly coordinated ground and aerial strikes to target high-value Khariji hideouts in the region. The precision operations have reportedly inflicted heavy operational and material losses on the terror outfits, significantly disrupting their command and control structure.
“The synergy between the Pakistan Army, FC Balochistan, and the local police has yielded critical breakthroughs in neutralizing these elements,” a security official stated, adding that the forces are targeting localized facilitation networks through relentless pressure.
The security offensive in the province has seen a sharp intensification over the last two weeks. Official data reveals that since July 5, a total of 126 Khariji terrorists have been neutralized across Balochistan in both Operation Shaban and parallel intelligence-based operations (IBOs).
Sources privy to the development maintained that the joint forces remain highly committed to eliminating the remaining pockets of militancy, with clearance operations still underway in the affected areas.
