Three killed in Pakistan due to severe cold weather

The city recorded a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius at 10 a.m. Monday, according to the Meteorological Department (Photo Online).

KARACHI: Extreme cold reigns in the Sindh capital as the temperature has dropped to 10 degrees claiming three lives.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature of the city was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius at 10 am on Monday. The wind continued to blow from the northeast at a speed of 8 km per hour and the humidity was 57 percent.

Due to the polluted atmosphere in the city early in the morning, the visibility was recorded at 2.8 km. According to the Air Quality Index, Karachi is ranked 5th among the most polluted cities in the world. The current pollution rate in the city has reached 162 percent.

On the other hand, on the information of the body near Bashir Chowk, New Karachi, the police reached the spot and took the body of a 60-year-old man in their custody and took it to Abbasi Hospital. According to the police, the deceased died due to a cold.
