LAHORE: There people were injured on Monday as their car and a motorcycle plunged into a sinkhole created by a break in a decades-old trunk sewer line at Khayaban-i-Firdausi.
Sinkhole usually emerge when the ground surface is no longer supported. The weight of rapidly moving automobiles, strong rain, wastewater flowing from broken sewer lines, and other things can weaken the asphalt and cause it to collapse.
An underground sewage line leak caused the enormous crater to appear, as per officials from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
The two people in the automobile were hurt, according to a rescue official, after becoming stuck when the sinkhole suddenly opened.
On social media, a video of the incident that showed bystanders assisting the stranded commuters also went viral.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore issued an order to divert traffic from Main Boulevard Johar Town in response, which increased traffic on alternate routes.
This is the forth sinkhole appear on the same Johar Town road in as many months.
