LAHORE/MULTAN: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested three suspects involved in online harassment, defamation, and blackmail operations across Lahore and Multan.
The coordinated arrests mark a significant crackdown on digital crime, with authorities recovering incriminating evidence including mobile devices and objectionable content used in the criminal activities.
Arrests in Lahore
Azeem Jafri, arrested in Lahore, was involved in online harassment and systematic defamation of citizens through digital platforms. A mobile phone was recovered from his possession during the arrest, and investigators are currently examining the device for evidence of his criminal activities.
According to the NCCIA spokesperson, Jafri had targeted multiple victims through defamatory posts and harassing communications on social media.
Arrests in Multan
Two additional suspects, Jamshed and Sajjad Sarwar, were apprehended in Multan on charges of cyber harassment and blackmail.
Jamshed allegedly threatened and blackmailed a female victim through WhatsApp, using coercive messages to extort money and personal information. Investigators recovered threatening communications from his device that corroborate the victim’s complaint.
Sajjad Sarwar’s mobile phone contained objectionable content distributed via WhatsApp, which was used to harass and intimidate victims. The material recovered from his device is being analyzed as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Investigation Underway
All three accused have been placed in custody for further interrogation and evidence gathering.
The NCCIA investigation team is examining the seized devices for digital evidence, including chat logs, payment transactions, and victim communications.
Authorities are also working to identify additional victims and determine the full scope of the suspects’ criminal operations.

Authorities have advised citizens to report any incidents of online harassment, blackmail, or defamatory content to the NCCIA immediately.
The agency operates a dedicated cybercrime reporting portal where victims can file complaints with complete confidentiality.
