KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Today marked yet another day of travel disruptions as 92 bilateral flights from various international airports across Pakistan to the Middle East were canceled, leaving many passengers in difficult situations.
At Karachi Airport, 20 flights destined for popular cities like Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, and Iraq were grounded.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Airport faced a larger impact with 28 flights to Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Muscat also canceled.
Lahore Airport too reported the cancellation of 18 flights to Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi while in Peshawar, 16 flights bound for Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi were similarly affected, along with four flights from Multan Airport to various Middle Eastern destinations.
Sialkot Airport saw the cancellation of six flights to Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, and Bahrain.
It is interesting to note that not all airports were affected, as flights from Faisalabad Airport proceeded as scheduled today, offering a glimmer of hope for those needing to travel.
This recent wave of cancellations, it may be added here, has brought the total to 1,822 flights grounded over the past 19 days, creating significant distress for travelers who are attempting to reach their intended destinations. Many passengers are left navigating their travel plans amid this uncertainty.
Airline officials encourage everyone to stay updated on flight statuses and to remain patient as they work to address these ongoing challenges.
