A chef has opened a Chinese restaurant on a rickshaw in Karachi attracting food lovers from all over the city.
Chef Muhammad Abbas has worked for some time at a restaurant in Bangladesh in addition to the leading Chinese restaurants in the city. He has open a restaurant on a rickshaw at Main Tariq Road.
While speaking to MM News, Muhammad Abbas said that he has been cooking Chinese food for 34 years. He started working at a well-known Chinese restaurant in Nazimabad in 1986. He has also worked with food expert and famous chef Shireen Anwar.
Chef Muhammad Abbas said that he is unable to meet the demands of the restaurant. He stays till late until he winds up and then goes homes to start another busy day. Abbas is helped by his family members including his wife, daughter, son, and brother-in-law.
“We go home from here at 3 o’clock at night, then I start preparing food at one o’clock in the day. After completing the preparation, I reached the restaurant till 8 o’clock. I see that customers are there even before I arrive,” he said.
Chef Abbas said he is looking for a house nearby so he can reach home on time and come back soon. Apart from the delicious meals, the food is also affordable. “At a Chinese restaurant, you get a soup for one thousand to Rs1200. In my restaurant, a whole family with 5 to 6 members can eat in this budget,” he said.
He sells Chicken Manchurian and Chinese rice for only Rs200 which can be easily eaten by two people. He said the reason for the rush is not only the taste but also value for money as customers will come back.
Abbas said his family also helps him at the rickshaw restaurant. His young daughter Aqsa also lends a hand and takes orders. She said people are always in a hurry and want their order to be taken first. She said that father prepares Chinese food including Chicken shashlik, chicken Manchurian, Chicken chili dry and Chinese rice and everyone orders the food of their choice.
Chef Abbas has urged Sindh Chief Minister, Commissioner Karachi and the Deputy Commissioner to stop the officers of DMC or KMC from harassing them so they can continue their job. He said they will offer the most delicious price to senior officials the lowest prices for these officials.
