KARACHI: A massive fire broke out on Thursday morning in a factory located in Karachi’s SITE area.
Several fire tenders reached the spot to control the fire after receiving information that a fire has erupted at a bedsheet manufacturing factory.
The firefighters are facing difficulties to control the fire due to huge clouds of smoke. The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
Rescue teams have labelled the incident as a third-degree blaze. They said that eight fire tenders are being used to put out the fire.
A fire snorkel has also been called from the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) to assist in the fire fighting activties, while six other fire tenders are being sent to the area. The huge clouds of smoke were visible from far-flung areas of the city.
KSWB spokesman said that a state of emergency has been declared at the Sakhi Hasan water hydrant and tankers are being sent to assist in the fire fighting activities.
