The Weeknd collaborates with HBO Max for ‘Live at Sofi Stadium’ concert special

Famous Canadian singer The Weeknd will be coming to HBO Max with a concert special titled ‘Live at SoFi Stadium’.

The special is set to premiere on February 25. The Gasoline singer took to his social media account and posted the concert special’s poster on his social media handles.

The Canadian singer’s second SoFi Stadium show dated September 3 was postponed to November 26 after he lost his voice while performing ‘Can’t Feel My Face’.

On the work front, his upcoming series The Idol, which The Weeknd is starring in and co-writing with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, will follow a female pop singer who sparks a romance with an enigmatic LA club owner who doubles as a leader of a secret cult. Starring Lily-Rose Depp, the show also features Troye Sivan, BLACKPINK‘s Jennie, Mike Dean and more.

Moreover, as of January 16, The Weeknd’s hit single ‘Blinding Lights’ became Spotify’s most streamed single of all time. The Weeknd currently has over 94.73 million listeners, a stat that was shared by PopCrave and retweeted by The Weeknd himself.

He also sang the theme song ‘Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)’ for movie the 2022 film Avatar: The Way Of Water.   Among the world’s best-selling music artists with over 75 million records sold, The Weeknd holds several streaming and Billboard chart records.

He is the first artist to simultaneously debut on the top three on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs,  while ‘Blinding Lights’ is ranked as the greatest Hot 100 song in Billboard history. Often considered as a prominent figure in contemporary popular music, he was listed by Time as one of the world’s most influential people in 2020.
