In a first for Pakistan, the Sindh government has decided to begin issuing licenses for teachers in the province.
The licenses will be offered to teachers who have completed a 4-year B.Ed degree and will be issued after passing a test.
The government will issue the licenses through the Sindh Testing Services and has sent out a call for applications. The last date for applying has been set for January 11.
Successful applicants will be eligible for elementary teaching positions in grade 16.
Caretaker Education Minister Raina Hussain said that the scheme had been introduced to improve the capacity of teachers in the province.
