Taylor Swift takes on AI as pop icon moves to protect her voice and image

Taylor Swift is taking a firm stand against the misuse of artificial intelligence by moving to trademark her voice and likeness.

The decision reflects growing concern among public figures over unauthorized AI-generated replicas.

Trademark filings have recently emerged as a new legal tool for celebrities to counter the rise of AI deepfakes and impersonations. Swift’s move follows a similar step taken earlier this year by Matthew McConaughey.

The pop star has submitted three trademark applications in the United States. One features an image of her performing during her Eras Tour, while the other two include audio clips of her introducing herself while promoting her latest album.

According to the application, the selected image shows Swift on stage holding a pink guitar and wearing a multicolored iridescent bodysuit with silver boots.

In recent years, AI-generated versions of Swift have circulated widely, including explicit images and even a fabricated political advertisement falsely depicting her endorsing Donald Trump.
