PERTH: Pakistan beat Netherlands by 6 wickets in a Group 2 match in Perth which appeared to be a one-sided match for the spectators. Chasing target of 91 runs, Pakistan scored 95 for loss of 4 wickets with 37 balls remaining, and thus recorded their first win in the T20 event.
This is Pakistan’s first T20IÂ victory in Australia. They lost 4 to Australia, 1 to India and 1 to Zimbabwe.
Rizwan has another accolade to his name, becoming only the third Pakistani to score 2500 runs in T20Is. He overtook Mohammad Hafeez to become Pakistan’s second highest run-scorer in T20I cricket behind Babar Azam. He’s the ninth player overall to score 2500+ runs in the format. He, however, missed his half century and couldn’t complete his 50, bowled by van Meekeren on 49 runs off 39 balls.

Earlier, batting first, Netherlands faced a tough day for their Dutch batters as they posted 9-91 from their 20 overs, setting a 92 runs winning target for Pakistan at Optus Stadium, Perth.

Afridi, who returned after knee injury, removed opener Stephan Myburgh on 6(11), vice-captain Shadab then removed Tom Cooper in his first ball as underdog Netherlands find themselves in difficult position.
