A gas pipeline was destroyed in an explosion in Balochistan’s Sibi district after unidentified individuals carried out a sabotage attack, disrupting gas supply to multiple areas, officials said.
In Balochistan’s Sibi district, unidentified individuals carried out an act of sabotage and blew up a gas pipeline using explosives.
According to police, the blast occurred near Sibi Teaching Hospital, severely damaging a 4-inch diameter gas pipeline.
Officials said that approximately 2 to 4 feet of the pipeline was affected due to the explosion.
Police further said that the main valve supplying gas to the area was also damaged, resulting in the suspension of gas supply in multiple localities.
A heavy contingent of security forces and police reached the site immediately after the incident, cordoned off the area, and began collecting evidence.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing, while a search operation has also been launched to track down the perpetrators.
