Actress Samina Peerzada has urged the makers of Pakistani dramas to stop normalising violence against women in TV plays and simply say ‘no’ to it.
Her series of tweets is a result of a Pakistani drama’s viral clip titled ‘Angna’ which is currently airing on ARY digital. The drama recently showed domestic violence and a toxic relationship between son and mother.

Ali Abbas slapped Rabab Hashim over an insignificant issue. The two are playing as a couple in the serial. After the clip went viral, many social media users were outraged with drama normalising domestic violence.

In this regard, the veteran actress also took to Twitter to talk about this subject. “We have to stop this notion that slapping women in a scene will get ratings. Content will”.
