ISLAMABAD: Officials said here on Tuesday that on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a special plane carrying humanitarian assistance and rescue team of Pakistan army has left for Türkiye.

Two more planes will leave for Turkiye today (Tuesday), to carry 50 personnel of Rescue 1122 and 15 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to the earthquake affected areas. The assistance will include winter tents, blankets, and other essential items.

From tomorrow, a PIA plane will daily carry 15 tonnes of humanitarian assistance from Islamabad and Lahore airports to Türkiye and Syria.
Teams from the Ministry of Health and army medical corps will also depart for both earthquake devastated countries.
