SMIU’s VC urges faculty members to focus more on research work

KARACHI: The Vice-Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) Dr. Mujeeb-u-Ddin Sahrai Memon has said that the importance of Information Technology is increasing day by day and faculty members should focus more on research work.

He said this while presiding over the meeting of the Department of Computer Science and its faculty members at Talpur House of SMIU.

The Vice-Chancellor urged on faculty members their research work must consist of more quality than quantity. “Department should arrange international conferences, short courses, Seminars workshops,” he said.

He added, “The faculty members should focus on research and innovation and seek supported projects from the local and international sponsor and donor agencies”.

Dr. Sahrai said the departments may work on national and international collaboration and find productive opportunities through signing the Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs).

Dr. Sahrai said the department should create a yearly plan that shall produce result-oriented objectives.

Later, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mujeeb-U-Ddin Sahrai Memon visited Computer Science Department accompanied by Dean Faculty of Information Technology Prof. Dr. Syed Asif Ali and head of the department Prof. Dr. Muhammad Malook Rind.

The newly Vice-Chancellor was introduced about faculty members and he received briefed about the department’s future plans.
