RAWALPINDI: The district police have arrested a woman in Rawalpindi’s Merah Abadi area for allegedly torturing her 6-year-old son to death, a police spokesperson said on Saturday.
According to details, a local court handed over the child to the woman, identified as Naseem Bibi, after a domestic dispute between parents. However, the child did not want to live with his mother.
In this regard, the mother tortured her child to death. The incident was discovered after the district police received a report from local residents. The police immediately took action and arrested the accused.
A case has been registered against the arrested accused under several provisions of the Criminal Act. Further investigation is underway, the police spokesperson added.
Earlier in December, the district police arrested a man allegedly involved in raping a 17-year-old girl in Rawalpindi. In her complaint to the police, she said that the man forcibly took her to a deserted place and sexually abused her along with his friend.
