A five-year-old boy’s body and six unconscious family members have been recovered from a bungalow of Karachi’s Defence Khayaban-e-Sehar area.
According to SSP South Sajid Sadozai, the unconscious individuals include Dr. Ziauddin Sheikh, owner of Sir Syed Hospital Qayyumabad, his wife, and four children aged between 16 to 8 years old.
The deceased child has been identified as five-year-old Moeenuddin and the unconscious siblings include Zara aged 16, Zohaib (13), Shahzain (11), and eight-year-old Jannat. According to SSP South, Dr. Sheikh had recently conducted fumigation in the house, which could have been the reason for their unconsciousness, however, the police are also investigating the other aspects of the tragic incident.
The affected family was initially taken to Sir Syed Hospital, later shifted to South City Hospital, and is now being moved to Aga Khan Hospital for further treatment. Further investigations into the incident are underway, according to the police. The real reason for the incident can be ascertained once the unconscious individuals regain consciousness.
