Six people, including a woman, were killed when the roof of a mud room collapsed in Shabqadar Tehsil of Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to rescue officials, the incident occurred in a house where the room’s roof suddenly gave way, trapping the people under the rubble.
Rescue personnel arrived at the scene, carried out operations, and recovered all the bodies from the debris. According to a rescue spokesperson, most of the deceased were children, aged between 7 and 15 years.
Local sources reported that the house belonged to the late Fazal Dad, and a wedding ceremony was supposed to take place there on the same day. Unfortunately, after this tragic accident, the house of celebration turned into a place of mourning.
Police and rescue agencies have begun collecting further information regarding the incident, while the bodies were handed over to the relatives after the necessary procedures.
Last July, six members of a family, including four children, were injured after the roof of a mud house collapsed due to heavy rains in Charsadda district.
