LAHORE: Pakistani singer Farhad Humayun has sued ‘Coca Cola’ for plagiarising the song he sang in 2011.
Popularly known for his association with the drum-jam band Overload, the record producer has claimed that Coco Cola’s recent advertisement named ‘Coke and Music,’ have plagiarised Farhad Humayun’s version of the song ‘Neray Aah’, release nine years ago.
The broadcast is part of Coca-Cola’s social media teasers across popular mediums such as YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.

According to Farhad Humayun’s team, the blatant breach of the singer’s content by Coca Cola is a great disappointment as the corporation professes to champion the efforts of the local music industry but has acted otherwise. However, this is not the first time the company is facing accusations of such nature.
The company faced the same notice previously in 2008 by singer Shehzad Roy over his ‘Laga Rahe’ song which was used in a Sprite campaign.
