The Sindh Police has decided to launch a full-scale crackdown against people driving vehicles without number plates or driving licenses in Karachi and other areas of Sindh.
According to details, a letter has been issued by the IG Sindh to the Additional IG Karachi Range, Zonal DIGs, DIG Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, DIG CIA, DIG Traffic Karachi, district SSPs of Hyderabad, and SP AVLC regarding the crackdown against vehicles without number plates and drivers without licenses across the province including Karachi.
According to the letter, the vehicles of violators will be seized, while the drivers will also be arrested.
The letter says that recent observations have revealed that a large number of vehicles across the province are being driven on roads without number plates, while many drivers are operating vehicles without licenses.
All police officers are instructed to immediately identify such vehicles and take strict legal action under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, and to ensure strict compliance with the law by launching a comprehensive crackdown against such vehicles on the roads.
All units have been directed in the letter to send range-wise and district-wise reports to the IGP Operations Room by 10 AM daily, so that the progress of the campaign can be reviewed on a daily basis.
The IG Sindh has termed this initiative extremely necessary to ensure enforcement of traffic laws and to strengthen security measures, and has instructed all relevant officers to implement the directives immediately.
