Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, inaugurated the distribution of Benazir Hari Cards for farmers in Karachi today.
In his address, he highlighted the Sindh government’s dedication to addressing farmers’ challenges, emphasizing that the Benazir Hari Card will facilitate easy access to loans, as well as the purchase of pesticides and seeds, aimed at increasing agricultural production.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also announced plans to extend agricultural loans to small growers, with the provincial government covering interest costs to ensure farmers can access financial support without additional burdens. He explained that Sindh Bank will provide these loans, allowing farmers to focus on cultivation without financial strain, as they will only be required to repay the principal amount.
The Chief Minister said that this initiative, integrated with the Hari Card, represents a transformative step for small farmers and a boost for provincial agriculture. He also addressed recent issues related to police action during the ‘Sindh Rawadari March.’
Following the speeches, Bilawal distributed the Benazir Hari Cards to the farmers in attendance.
