KARACHI: Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani has said that the arrest of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (retd) Safdar was not on the directive of the Sindh government.

Saeed Ghani said that the son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the manner in which Captain (retd) Safdar was arrested. Ghani said that a conspiracy was hatched to create a rift in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) by arresting Capt (retd) Safdar.

Ghani also said that the Sindh government had made arrangements for Nawaz Sharif’s address. “Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto speaks in the interest of the people, his speech in Karachi yesterday was good,” he remarked.

Saeed Ghani said that PML-N members were our guests in the Karachi rally and no one can put pressure on us to put pictures of leaders in the rallies. It may be recalled that PML-N leader Captain (retd) Safdar has been arrested today in a case of violation of Quaid-e-Azam tomb.

On the other hand, Spokesperson of Maryam and Nawaz Sharif , Muhammad Zubair termed the arrest of Captain (retd) Safdar an act of state terrorism. Talking to media persons, he said that they are not afraid of cases and arrests. Soon it will be revealed that who pressurized the Sindh government to make the arrest.

Muhammad Zubair said that he was not allowed to enter the police station despite the fact that he is a former governor of the province. He also warned of severe reactions all across the country if not allowed to enter the police station.
