The owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL)-associated franchise Sialkot Stallions, Kamil Khan, has officially announced his departure from the newly established team.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Khan said the decision was made after careful consideration of certain administrative matters.
He expressed that his association with the franchise was driven by his deep love for Pakistan cricket and that he had fulfilled his responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.
Khan highlighted that the team made significant progress in a short span of time, including the inclusion of Australian star Steve Smith in the squad, the appointment of former Australia captain Tim Paine, and a partnership with global sports brand New Balance.
He said that although he had decided to part ways earlier, he wanted to ensure the franchise was in safe hands before formally stepping aside. Concluding his message, Khan extended his best wishes to everyone associated with the team, saying his journey with the Stallions had come to an end.
Meanwhile, CD Ventures owner Gohar Shah has reportedly acquired 98 percent shares of the franchise from the OZ Group, effectively transferring control to the new management. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had sold the eighth PSL team to the OZ Group for Rs1.85 billion in an auction held on January 8.
