RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has claimed that there has been a rift developed within ranks of the ruling coalition partners, i.e. Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
He has further claimed that the meeting of two bigwigs would result in holding elections in the country, adding that the Election Commission of Pakistan has already started preparations for polls.

His comments came following the meeting of Army Chief Gen Asim Munir with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the other day.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Sheikh Rashid warned anyone ridiculing the (Supreme) Court’s verdict would have to face trial. The Supreme Court, it may be recalled, had ordered the ECP to hold elections in Punjab and KP within 90 days after the dissolution of provincial assemblies in January. Representatives of the federal government as well as some media analysts, who are generally believed to be aligned with the ruling coalition, had interpreted that the SC verdict of 5-judges bench had actually came in their favor with the ration of 4:3.

Sheikh Rashid predicted that before reaching any staff level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), poor class of the nation would have to suffer more. He said the rulers were enjoying a lavish life while on the other hand, the poor man was faced with such a hard life as if he was in being slaughtered. He claimed that the prices of petrol and electricity were going to be raised soon.

The AML Chief warned that the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan would further deteriorate the situation in the country, and would act like adding fuel to fire.
