RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former federal interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has expressed concerns about the state of politics in Pakistan, warning that the consequences of enmity in politics would be dire.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, Sheikh Rashid accused the government of using negotiations as an excuse to deceive Supreme Court while passing time. He claimed that there would be a final outcome of the whole episode (of current political scenario) by May 10.
Sheikh Rashid said that Pakistan was not on the agenda in the IMF Executive Board meeting on May 10, and criticized the rulers for being in relief while the people are in grief.

He said that the next target of the government was his 4-marla Lal Haveli mansion, and that the rulers should be prepared for to face consequences for any misadventure.
He claimed to have won the case in the high court, and warned that if he was killed, he had written the names of eight people to the relevant institutions and had a receipt of that as well.
Furthermore, Sheikh Rashid said Khaqan Abbasi, being an insider of the current government, was blaming the government for committing corruption of Rs20 billion in flour distribution. He said that at least 20 people died seeking free flour in lines while the government earned Rs20 billion in a day.
The AML Chief questioned what had happened at Parvez Elahi’s house, claiming that it was done at the behest of the caretaker chief minister and under the direction of Asif Ali Zardari. He warned that “when the gates are broken by armored vehicles, the votes will also go into the oven.”
