LAHORE: Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed has apprehended about likely tragedy during the upcoming public gathering of the 11-party opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Quetta.
“Terrorists are regrouping and miscreants have entered in the country,” the federal minister claimed while addressing a press conference in Lahore today (Sunday). “I am praying for the public meetings in Peshawar and Quetta,” he added.
Referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s tenure, Sheikh Rasheed said, “Some people are predicting the Prime Minister will exit in December or January, but I am saying he won’t go anywhere.”
“Ups and downs are routine in politics. If governments collapse with protest meetings and processions, our sit-in in Islamabad had collapsed the government of that time,” he added.
It is worth mentioning here that opposition alliance will form a public meeting in the southwestern city of Quetta in Balochistan province on November 25 (tomorrow).
Commenting on inflation, the railways’ ministers said that the price hike and dearness was the real issue and he hoped that the premier would overcome this issue within the time of coming four weeks.
Sheikh Rashid also said that eight more trains will be privatized from 12th of next month and rail car between Lahore-Rawalpindi will also be restored from 30th of next month.
He asked the private parties to come forward and run their freight trains using the railway’s infrastructure and properties. “The online booking of freight trains has also been started to stop irregularities in this regard,” he added.
