KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday heard bail applications filed by co-accused Zeeshan and Sohail, who were arrested for allegedly facilitating prime accused Anmol alias Pinki in a drug trafficking case.
A single bench of the court issued notices to the prosecution and the investigation officer for August 26, directing them to submit their replies.
Lawyers claim false implication, malicious records
The counsel for the petitioners took the position that his clients are engaged in the micro-financing business and have no connection with Anmol alias Pinki or the alleged drug trafficking network.
The lawyer told the court that the transaction records presented by the police are malicious. He further submitted that before the arrest of Anmol alias Pinki, the petitioners were not aware of any alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
The counsel also took the position that both petitioners were included in the case after allegedly being kidnapped from their homes.
It may be noted that the sessions court has already rejected the bail applications of both accused. According to police, cases have been registered against the accused and Anmol alias Pinki at the Garden Police Station.
