Sharmin Segal’s acting skills in the ‘Heeramandi’ series made her famous for all the wrong reasons, mainly for her expressionless acting.
The actress has been receiving a lot of backlash ever since the series was released for so many reasons, as per the social media users.
Some believed her acting was expressionless, some thought she was cold towards her co-stars and some blamed her for getting a role because she is the nephew of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Finally, Sharmin Segal has opened up about the trolling for the first time and while in an interview with News18, she addressed the trolling and mentioned that according to her, the audience is the king and she needs to acknowledge them as it is very important.
She said, “They have a right to their opinion – positive or negative. That’s one thing that gives me perspective and allows me to be okay.”
The actress said that she believes that not every response was negative and she has also been receiving positive responses as well but the internet chose to focus more on negative parts and trolling.
“It’s perhaps not interesting enough to talk about positives and we tend to look over them to some degree,” she said.
Segal made her acting debut with the 2019 film Malaal. She was recently seen in Heeramandi which streamed on Netflix and also stars an ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Fardeen Khan.
