Pakistan has seen many democratic governments since its inception. Most of the time we saw the forced removal of one government after another, while on four occasions, democratic governments were sent packing, and so the high and mighty of this country themselves could take the torch and teach politicians how to run things. Be it the time when the torch was held by General Zia, and Muhammad Khan Junejo was the pupil, or it was in the hand of General Musharraf, and Jamali and Shaukat Aziz were sitting in the classrooms. One has to accept the process was meant to teach the politicians.
In a time of turmoil, probably the worst moment was when a PM was seeing not only his removal from power but his judicial murder. Just imagine for a moment that the person who gave the first engineering and medical colleges to this country, made an agreement with the Gulf countries and created opportunities for millions of Pakistanis abroad, was able to free 90 thousand prisoners from India, above all, he provided a nuclear shield to Pakistan.
Did he think for a moment about what was happening to him, was it the return of all he did for this country? When someone’s life is at stake, everything becomes meaningless. And one gives his last reaction before the final breath. But Bhutto walking toward the gallows never thought for a moment about what this country was doing to him.
Bhutto thought it was all Zia’s doing. So Bhutto or his daughter never did anything against Pakistan. They didn’t punish Pakistan for Zia’s deeds. The same thing happened in Nawaz Sharif’s case. Although, Nawaz Sharif was not given a death sentence like Bhutto, but after Bhutto, he was the only prime minister who went through brutal adversities. Nawaz Sharif or his family did not respond in such a way that the country was targeted. Like the Bhutto family’s grudge was with General Zia, Sharifs focused on General Musharaf.
Two days ago, the audio of Imran Khan and his former Principal Secretary Azam Khan was leaked. It was the time when he was selected and was about to be rejected.
Imran took out a piece of paper from his pocket, and waved it as if this threat was sent to us but didn’t name the country. He named the United States after a couple of days. And then he built a whole narrative on this false claim. The whole narrative was based on two claims.
Why would you need to kill a fox with a howitzer? The state of that government was such that as soon as the general sahab was removed from his post, the Toshakhana government collapsed.
Nizam al-Din Tusi said Kings would lose their throne if I dropped my inkpot. Maybe Bajwa Sahib also wanted to show us he could raze Rangila Shah’s whole Toshakhana with just the removal of the ISI chief.
Imran Khan and Azam Khan leaked conversation proves that they created a conspiracy from this when there was none. This conversation proves that the paper Imran Khan waved in a rally was a lie and written by Azam Khan.
The most dangerous aspect of the conversation is that the United States did not conspire against anyone, but a conspiracy was hatched against both the United States and Pakistan.
Tragedy is that anti-American sentiments in this country are based on narrow-minded thinking; that America is Pakistan’s enemy. We totally ignore the importance of Pak-US relationship.
Every industrialist or businessman in the world prosper when his products are sold. If the products do not have a market and the industrialist does not have a backup plan, then he will go bankrupt. If a merchant does not get enough customers, his income becomes insufficient to the extent that the expenses of the house start to be covered not by profit, but by the shop’s capital. Ultimately, his business will become untenable.
Thus, customers are important for Pakistan. Pakistan will prosper if the world buys our goods. But if we make the buyers angry and they go somewhere else, Pakistan will suffer.
Situation is; the largest buyer of Pakistani goods in the world is America and the second largest is Europe. And Pakistan’s worst customers are 54 useless Islamic countries that we consider our brothers.
The second worst Pakistani buyer is the country we consider our best friend. Google it, check it for yourself, how much Us, a country with 327 million population, buys from us and how much we export to China with a population of 1.5 billion.
Our economic prosperity depends on the United States. And if the US starts buying goods from India instead of us, then Pakistan will not be able to maintain its existence. Then we will be like that businessman who sold his shop to search for a job.
Imran Khan and Azam Khan’s leaked conversation proves that when PDM was overthrowing his government, Imran Khan was conspiring against the United States and Pakistan.
If he has to conspire against someone, then he should do it against Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Fazl-ur- Rehman. Why against the country?
Consider this; does the US not have the right to say Imran Khan had conspired against us and it has proven now? Since this was done by the then Prime Minister, therefore, we are stopping our trade with Pakistan until action is taken against the conspirators. Will they be wrong to take this stance?
The establishment termed Benazir Bhutto a ‘Security Risk’ in the 80s, and 30 years later, the same establishment selected someone with fanfare, who turned out a ‘Security Risk’. The mills of the gods grind slowly, but they grind exceeding fine.
