Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in collaboration with several government and non-government organizations, has included 450 disabled and orphaned people in the 1444 Hajj season as part of the third season of its national initiative for Hajj for the disabled.
The Hajj Program for Orphans and Persons with Disabilities involves the Government of Saudi Arabia, its various agencies, and non-profit organizations. This initiative is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.
The aim of this initiative is to provide an opportunity for disabled persons and orphans to perform Hajj with ease and convenience, besides strengthening their role in society and enabling them to enjoy the blessings of Hajj and Umrah.
The Ministry of Hajj said that the disabled and orphaned pilgrims were provided with modern transportation facilities. Separate paths were reserved for them in Masjid Haram and other holy places. Apart from this, special care was taken for the medical needs of such persons. Facilities like medicines and essential equipment, sign translator, and Braille were provided.
It is noteworthy that the national initiative of Hajj for the disabled and orphans was started in the year 1442 AH and 200 pilgrims participated in it, while in 1443 AH the number of participants reached 300 from all regions of the kingdom.
