ISLAMABAD: Deputy Defence Minister for Saudi Arabia, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Monday) in Islamabad.
Matters pertaining to bilateral relations as well as regional and international came under discussions. During the meeting, Prince Khalid bin Salman delivered an important message from Saudi leadership to PM Imran.
Both personalities underscored the relationship between Saudi Arab and Pakistan with an emphasis on building and enhancing mutual cooperation.
On the occasion, PM Imran said that Saudi Arabia has been an all-weather friend for Pakistan who the country has relied upon consistently and have in turn been helped without fail.
He hailed the growing economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and called it a mutually beneficial development. He recalled the historic visit of Prince Mohammad bin Salman to Pakistan in 2019, and Saudi Arabia’s strong economic support for Pakistan particularly at the time of economic challenges. He appreciated the growing economic ties between the two countries and the Saudi commitment for investments in diverse sectors.
PM Imran Khan also highlighted India’s continued illegal hegemonic rule on disputed Kashmir while explaining the racist, anti-Muslim ideology of Hindutva being practised by the Indian government.
The prime minister further highlighted the threat to peace and security posed by the Indian leadership’s belligerent rhetoric and aggressive actions on the ground. He stressed the importance of the international community, including the Muslim world, playing its role in preventing the ongoing atrocities and promoting a peaceful solution of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute.
PM Imran Khan also highlighted India’s discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and underscored that the Indian Government was engaged in systematic efforts to discriminate against, marginalize and disenfranchise minorities, particularly Muslims.
The recent targeted killings of Muslims in New Delhi and the desecration of their places of worship were a matter of grave concern not only for the Muslim world but also for the international community. He underlined that the RSS-inspired BJP government was squeezing Kashmiris on one hand and India’s minorities on the other hand, which should be prevented by the world community.
The Saudi Deputy Minister of Defence appreciated Pakistan’s role for regional peace and stability including in the Middle East. He conveyed the firm commitment of the Saudi leadership to the further deepening of fraternal ties and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries. He reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as long-standing partners, would always stand by each other.
