Sanam Marvi files case against ex-husband Hamid Ali

Folk singer Sanam Marvi has filed a case against her ex-husband Hamid Ali and his accomplices.

Sanam Marvi has registered a case in Islampura police station in Lahore in which she has nominated her ex-husband, his brother, and other associates.

According to sources, the case filed by the singer alleges that Hamid Ali and his accomplices tortured her and tried to kidnap her.

Marvi and Ali officially parted ways back in February 2020. The singer had claimed that she had to endure physical abuse at the hands of Ali during the course of their marriage. Both share three children together.

In the petition, the singer, who filed for khula, stated that she married him in 2009 but after some time her husband’s attitude towards her changed. Sanam Marvi got married to Hamid Ali in 2009 after her former husband Aftab Ahmed was killed in Karachi the same year.

The guardian court then issued a ruling on the child custody case between the singer and her ex-husband that the children will stay with the mother for four days a week and the father for three days a week. When the mother is abroad, the children will be the responsibility of the ex-husband.

Despite the court’s decision, Marvi had pleaded for primary custody of the children. She claimed that her ex-husband was forcibly keeping the children. The singer asserted that she could not live without her children.
