Questions are being raised about the law and order situation in Model Colony, located in Karachi’s Malir district, after armed robbers allegedly carried out a daylight robbery in the area.
The incident, which occurred in Shamsi Society, has left residents alarmed and concerned about their safety, with many questioning the effectiveness of existing security measures.
According to sources, the suspects appeared so fearless that after robbing citizens once, they reportedly returned to the same location and continued their criminal activity at gunpoint.
During the incident, a young man attempted to stop the robbers. As a result of his resistance, the suspects reportedly fell off their motorcycle. However, after regaining their footing, they allegedly opened fire on the young man, further intensifying fear among local residents.
Following the incident, residents questioned why such robberies continue to occur in Model Colony despite the presence of law enforcement. They also asked where the police and other security agencies were and how long citizens would be forced to live under constant fear for the safety of their lives and property.
Residents have been urged to work together to improve security in their neighborhoods by strengthening community cooperation and, where possible, arranging private security guards, as community-level safety measures have become increasingly important under the current circumstances.
Citizens have also called on the relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the rising number of robberies in Model Colony, increase police patrols, and ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible so that residents can once again feel secure in their community.
