LAHORE: Renowned Television, film and stage actor Nighat Butt passed away in Lahore on Friday after a protracted illness.
She was 72 and left behind three daughters and a son. Nighat Butt was under treatment at the Mid City Hospital in Lahore where she died.
She associated actively in showbiz for almost three decades. People affiliated with the showbiz industry have expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise of Nighat Butt.
She was suffering from several diseases including, blood pressure and diabetes and her mental health had also been affected.
She was a famous actor of her age she acted in several TV plays such as Khwahish, Pyaas, Landa Bazaar and Waris. She also performed a lot of stage plays in the early 1960s.
Nighat Butt was facing harsh financial issues after the death of her husband Abid Butt four years ago. She didn’t have money to give the charge of her house.
She was laid to rest in Model Town’s E-Block. Quran Khwani will be held on Sunday at the D-Block Mosque of the locality.
