HMD, the makers of Nokia phones, is bringing back one of Nokia’s most cherished models, the 3210, according to a report in Tech Radar.
Originally released in 1999, the Nokia 3210 quickly gained popularity and earned the title of being the ideal mobile phone of its time, with an estimated 160 million units in circulation by 1999.
Recently celebrating its 25th anniversary on March 18, the Nokia 3210 hails from an era where Nokia dominated the mobile phone market, akin to the iPhone’s dominance in the modern era. HMD, dropping hints on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), suggested a reboot of a classic Nokia model, which has now been confirmed by Finnish retailer Giganti (via NokiaMob) to be the iconic 3210.

Set for an official launch on May 8, with sales beginning on May 15, the reincarnated Nokia 3210 retains some design cues from its predecessor, though it leans closer to the aesthetics of the Nokia 3310 from the early 2000s. Additionally, it incorporates modern upgrades such as a 2.4-inch QVGA color screen (a departure from the original’s 1.5-inch monochrome display) and a 2MP f/2.8 camera capable of recording 720p video.
While these enhancements may affect its legendary battery life, a 1,450 mAh battery is expected to provide ample usage time. Furthermore, HMD’s teaser confirms the inclusion of the beloved game Snake. The leaked information also suggests a nostalgic pricing strategy, with the phone anticipated to retail for €89 (approximately $95 / £76 / AU$145) upon its release.
