Reigning ‘Mrs World’ arrested for stripping crown from head of ‘Mrs Sri Lanka’

A reigning Mrs World champion, who stripped the crown of ‘Mrs Sri Lanka’ 2021 has been arrested.

Pushpika De Silva won the “Mrs Sri Lanka” 2021 title on Sunday. As de Silva was being crowned on-air Jurie had stormed over to snatch the headpiece aggressively, leaving her with head injuries.

Reigning Mrs World champion Caroline Jurie accused Silva of being a divorced woman which was against pageant rules. “There is a rule that prevents women who have already been married and are divorced, so I am taking steps to make the crown go to second place,” Jurie told the audience.
