After several near-fifties, Reddy finally broke the barrier, much to the joy of his fans and teammates. He reached the milestone with a boundary off a wide delivery from Mitchell Starc, immediately followed by a celebration inspired by the recently released movie Pushpa: The Rise.
In tribute to the film’s iconic character, Pushpa Raj, Reddy raised his bat around his neck, mimicking the famous gesture made by actor Allu Arjun. The move quickly caught the attention of veteran commentator Sunil Gavaskar, who recognized the reference and chuckled, “O… Pushpa,” a nod to the character’s famous line, “Pushpa jhukega nahi,” meaning “Pushpa will never bow down.”
The dialogue reflects Pushpa Raj’s unshakable determination, an attitude Reddy seemed to embody as he marked his significant achievement.
