KARACHI: The results of teachers’ tests conducted by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) have revealed that more than 99 percent of candidates failed the test for recruitment of junior school teachers across Sindh.
Around 160,000 candidates from all over Sindh participated in the test, out of which 32,510 junior school teachers were to be recruited.
The Sindh Education Minister informed the Cabinet of the results in the Cabinet meeting yesterday that only 0.78 candidates could pass the test for recruitment.

Sources said that after the results, the test will be repeated or the passing marks will be reduced. In May, Education Minister Saeed Ghani had said that 37,000 teachers would be recruited in the province.
Tests for teacher recruitment were conducted between 13th and 26th September. In all, more than 372,000 candidates had applied for the test. Reportedly, over 500,000 applications were received against the 46,500 vacancies of primary school teachers (PSTs) and JEST.
