Ramzan moon to be sighted on April 24

LAHORE: The moon of Ramzan is expected to be sighted on 24th April while the holy month is expected to begin on 25th April in Pakistan.
As per details, Muslims in Pakistan and most of the other countries will observe the first fast on 25th April. In this regard, a meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held on 23rd April.
South Asian neighbours Bangladesh, India and other countries in Asia and Africa will also sight the Ramzan moon on 24th April like Pakistan.
Council of Islamic Ideology Chairman Dr. Qibla Ayaz had urged the people to avoid going to mosques and offer Friday congregations prayer at home under the prevailing situation. He further said that mosques can be used as community centres to raise awareness about coronavirus and in the distribution of rations.
