During the month of Ramadan, the federal government will adjust the office hours for its employees to offer them essential relief.
In accordance with the annual tradition, it is anticipated that the working hours at government offices will be shortened by two to three hours for the duration of the holy month, which is projected to commence on March 2, 2025.
The government is likely to set the office hours from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for those offices operating five days a week, while offices that are open six days a week will have hours from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
On Fridays, the working hours for federal government offices are expected to be established from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
The Establishment Division will issue a notification regarding the office timings one week prior to the start of the holy month.
According to the information provided, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene on February 28 for the purpose of moon sighting for Ramadan.
Previously, the Pakistan Meteorological Department released a forecast concerning the moon sighting.
The Met Office has indicated that the moon is expected to be sighted on February 28 at 5:45 PM, which will signify the beginning of the Islamic month of Ramadan.
The confirmation of the start of the holy month is anticipated to follow the sighting of the new moon on March 1.
