LONDON: Queen Elizabeth on Saturday designated her grandson as the new royal title of Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
In this role, William will become the personal representative of the British monarch to the Church of Scotland, performing various official visits and symbolic duties ahead.

According to Royal U.K., “The role of the Lord’s High Commissioner is to maintain relationships between the State and the Church and to maintain a lengthy-standing tradition of appointing the Lord’s High Commissioner in the latter part of the 16th century.”
The Queen has appointed Prince William as Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the @churchscotland this year.

Prince William, 37, takes over the role of Richard Scott, the 10th Duke of Buccleuch, and the 12th Duke of Queensberry. before Scott, Princess Anne took the post.

The announcement came when prince William’s brother Prince Harry, and Harry’s wife Meghan Markle, move back as senior royal family members.
